🧍 The type strain (NCTC 10204) of Pasteurella multocida subsp. gallicida is not the type strain (NCTC 10322) of Pasteurella gallicida (Burrill 1883) Buchanan 1925 (Approved Lists 1980). Moreover, the name Pasteurella gallicida is placed on the list of nomina rejicienda (See: Pasteurella gallicida). Therefore, Pasteurella multocida subsp. gallicida is a new subspecies, not a new combination.Publication:
