Corresponding authors

Within certain limits, the e-mail addresses of corresponding authors provide an indication of the countries of origin of studies on microbial taxonomy. This page lists the top-level domains of e-mail addresses of corresponding authors recorded in LPSN. The number of names and emendations proposed under the ICNP per top-level domain provides an indication of the taxonomic activity of working groups per country. The number of distinct e-mail addresses per top-level domain provides an indication of the number of groups active in microbial taxonomy per country. Please note that the occurrence of the top-level domain "com" is mostly caused by the usage of private e-mail addresses rather than by the activity of microbial taxonomists who are employed by companies. Moreover, please keep in mind that an individual taxonomist may use distinct e-mail addresses throughout her career.
