🚃 The type genus of this family has alternatively been placed in the family Bacteriovoracaceae Davidov and Jurkevitch 2004.Publication:

Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2004; 54:1439-1452.
🎰 The BRCs most frequently used for deposits in this group are: DSM: 1; NCCB: 1; ATCC: 1.
🧍 Peredibacteraceae Piñeiro et al. 2008 is illegitimate because it contains Bacteriolyticum, which is an illegitimate later homotypic synonym of Bacteriovorax; the family would need to be Bacteriovoracaceae.Publication:
Davidov Y, Jurkevitch E. Diversity and evolution of Bdellovibrio-and-like organisms (BALOs), reclassification of Bacteriovorax starrii as Peredibacter starrii gen. nov., comb. nov., and description of the Bacteriovorax-Peredibacter clade as Bacteriovoracaceae fam. nov. Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2004; 54:1439-1452.
🧍 According to Piñeiro et al. 2008, the family Peredibacteraceae encompasses the genera Peredibacter Davidov and Jurkevitch 2004 [Peredibacter starrii (Seidler et al. 1972) Davidov and Jurkevitch 2004], and Bacteriolyticum Piñeiro et al. 2008 [Bacteriolyticum stolpii (Seidler et al. 1972) Piñeiro et al. 2008]. The names Bacteriolyticum, and Bacteriolyticum stolpii are illegitimate (see the file Bacteriolyticum). According to Principle 6 and to Rule 23a Note 5, the names which must be adopted are Bacteriovorax Baer et al. 2000 and Bacteriovorax stolpii (Seidler et al. 1972) Baer et al. 2000 [or Bdellovibrio stolpii Seidler et al. 1972 (Approved Lists 1980)]. The genus Bacteriovorax is the type genus of the family Bacteriovoracaceae Davidov and Jurkevitch 2004. So, according to Rule 51b (1), Peredibacteraceae Piñeiro et al. 2008 is an illegitimate name (the family must be called Bacteriovoracaceae and not Peredibacteraceae).Publication:
