Name: Desmosiphon neocaledonicus corrig. Bourrelly 1984
Etymology: neo.ca.le.do.ni’cus. N.L. masc. adj. caledonicus, from Caledonia (Scotland), the country where the type strain was isolated; N.L. masc. adj. neocaledonicus, reflecting its geographic origin in New Caledonia
