Etymology: tal.ling’i.i. N.L. gen. neut. n. tallingii, This species is named in honour of Dr. Jack TALLING (Windermere, England), one of the world’s leading phytoplankton ecologists, who has studied the plankton ecology of East-African Great Lakes for many years.
