Etymology: L. adj. and pronoun alius other, another, different; L. fem. n. Dongia, a bacterial genus; N.L. fem. n. Aliidongia, the other Dongia.

Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: KX426600.
Etymology: N. L. fem. adj. dinghuensis, referring to Dinghushan Biosphere Reserve, Guangdong Province, PR China, where the organism was first isolated.
