Announcement
I am pleased to announce that LPSN has been acquired by Leibniz Institute DSMZ – Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH. DSMZ is the major German biological resource centre and is a state-owned not-for-profit organisation.
LPSN will be integrated into the DSMZ’s Prokaryotic Nomenclature Up-to-date (PNU) database as an all-new service. The merger of LPSN and PNU will ensure the long-term viability of LPSN and its efficient and frequent updating using DSMZ technology and resources. LPSN will continue to be freely available to users.
The new service will be launched in February 2020.
Aidan Parte, Curator of LPSN
