Type species: ¤ Kineothrix alysoides Haas and Blanchard 2017.
Etymology: Gr. v. kineo, to move; Gr. fem. n. thrix, trichos, hair; N.L. fem. n. Kineothrix, a moving hair, recognizing the unusual and distinctive cellular morphology of the type species, long filamentous chains of cells that appear like strands of hair.
