Type species: ¤ Labilithrix luteola Yamamoto et al. 2014.
Etymology: L. adj. labilis, slippery, gliding; Gr. fem. n. thrix, hair; N.L. fem. n. Labilithrix, gliding bacterium that forms swarming colonies with a periphery that resembles hair.
