Etymology: N.L. n. methylum, (from French méthyle, back-formation from French méthylène, coined from Gr. n. methu, wine and Gr. n. hulê, wood.

Etymology: N.L. masc. gen. n. ishizawai, named after a Japanese soil microbiologist Shuichi Ishizawa, in honour of his seminal research on soil micro-organisms, especially in plant rhizosphere.
