Type species: ¤ Nibribacter koreensis Kang et al. 2013.
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Nibribacter, rod-shaped bacterium connected with the National Institute of Biological Resources of Korea (NIBR), Republic of Korea, which supported the isolation of the type species of the genus.
