Nomenclatural type: ¤ Pectobacterium Waldee 1945 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hauben et al. 1998.
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. Pectobacterium, type genus of the family; -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Pectobacteriaceae, the family whose nomenclatural type is the genus Pectobacterium.
