Etymology: Gr. adv. pleon, more; Gr. n. morphe, shape, form; Gr. fem. n. chaitê (L. transliteration chaeta), long flowing hair; Pleomorphochaeta cells with multiple morphologies with a derivation from spirochaetal ancestry.
