Etymology: Gr. adj. pseudes, false; N.L. fem. n. Scardovia, a bacterial generic name; N.L. fem. n. Pseudoscardovia, not a true Scardovia.

Pseudoscardovia radai Killer et al. 2014, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) DPVI-TET3=CCM 7943=DSM 24742.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: HQ842704.
Etymology: N.L. gen. masc. n. radai, of Rada, named in honour of Vojtěch Rada, who first undertook research into bifidobacteria in the Czech Republic.
