Etymology: Gr. adj. psychros, cold; N.L. neut. n. microbium, microbe; N.L. neut. n. Psychromicrobium, microbe growing at low temperatures.

Psychromicrobium lacuslunae Kiran et al. 2018, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) IHBB 11108=MTCC 12460=MCC 2780=JCM 31143=KACC 19070.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: KU921532.
Etymology: L. masc. n. lacus, lake; L. fem. n. luna, the moon: N.L. gen. n. lacuslunae, of Moon Lake (Chandra Tal, India) from where the strain was isolated.
