Etymology: N.L. neut. n. puerum, Pu’er, a tea from China; N.L. masc. n. bacillus, a small rod and also the bacterial genus name Bacillus; N.L. masc. n. Pueribacillus, a rod belonging to the family Bacillaceae and isolated from Pu’er tea.
