Type species: ¤ Rhodoluna lacicola Hahn et al. 2014.
Etymology: Gr. n. rhodon, the rose; L. fem. n. luna, the moon; N.L. fem. n. Rhodoluna, red-coloured moon, referring to the red pigmentation and the seemingly selenoid (crescent shape) morphology of the strain.
