Etymology: Gr. adj. thermos, warm, hot; Gr. n. staphyle, a bunch of grapes; Gr. fem. n. spora, a seed and, in bacteriology, a spore; N.L. fem. n. Thermostaphylospora, a thermophilic actinomycete forming clustery spores.
