Nomenclatural type: ¤ Thorsellia Kämpfer et al. 2006.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Thorsellia, type genus of the order; L. pl. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Thorselliaceae, the family of the genus Thorsellia.
