Type species: ¤ Vitiosangium cumulatum Awal et al. 2017.
Etymology: L. adj. vitiosus, defect; Gr. neut. n. angion, vessel, container; N.L. neut. n. Vitiosangium, defective vessel, referring to the scarcity of sporangioles in fruiting bodies and fruiting-body-like aggregates.
