Taxonomists who have recently focused on this group are the corresponding authors of Kim et al. (2017). Editors in search of reviewers are advised to consider additional criteria such as whether a taxon is covered by one of the ICSP subcommittees.
Cognaticolwellia is the correct name if this genus is regarded as a separate genus (i.e., if its nomenclatural type is not assigned to another genus whose name is validly published, legitimate and not rejected and has priority).
Colwellia was demonstrated in the analysis be Liu et al. (2020) to not be monophyletic. However, this was only caused by the placement of Litorilituus, which made Colwellia paraphyletic. This genus could have been included in Colwellia, which would have been the more conservative solution than proposing two new genera.Publication:
