Etymology: car.ce.ra.ri.us. L. masc. adj. carcerarius, derived from L. carcerare, imprisoned, in reference to its endocytical nature
Holotype: Type specimen occurring endocytically in Amphisolenia globifer from a surface sample at Station 138
