Type species: ¤ Acetomicrobium flavidum Soutschek et al. 1985.
Etymology: L. n. acetum, vinegar; N.L. neut. n. microbium (from Gr. adj. mikros, small and Gr. n. bios, life), a microbe; N.L. neut. n. Aacetomicrobium, a microorganism producing acetic acid.
