Actinobispora Jiang et al. 1991, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Actinobispora yunnanensis Jiang et al. 1991.
Etymology: Gr. n. aktis -inos, a ray; L. adv. num. bis, twice; Gr. fem. n. spora, a seed and, in biology, a spore; N.L. fem. n. Actinobispora, indicates the actinomycete forming two spores.

¤ Pseudonocardia Henssen 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Huang et al. 2002.

Note: Huang et al. 2002 propose to transfer ¤ Actinobispora yunnanensis Jiang et al. 1991 (the type species of the genus Actinobispora) to the genus Pseudonocardia as ¤ Pseudonocardia yunnanensis (Jiang et al. 1991) Huang et al. 2002, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Actinobispora to ¤ Pseudonocardia.

Etymology: N.L. n. alaninum, alanine; N.L. fem. adj. phila (from Gr. fem. adj. philê), friend loving; N.L. fem. adj. alaniniphila, alanine loving.
