Note: Ramírez-Bahena et al. 2013 propose to transfer ¤ Agromonas oligotrophica Ohta and Hattori 1985 (the type species of the genus Agromonas) to the genus ¤ Bradyrhizobium as ¤ Bradyrhizobium oligotrophicum (Ohta and Hattori 1985) Ramírez-Bahena et al. 2013, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Agromonas to ¤ Bradyrhizobium.

Etymology: Gr. adj. oligos, little, small, few; N.L. fem. adj. trophica (from Gr. fem. adj. trophikê), nursing, tending or feeding; N.L. fem. adj. oligotrophica, eating low nutrients.
