Type species: ¤ Aidingimonas halophila Wang et al. 2009.
Etymology: N.L. n. Aidingum, Aiding (a lake located in Xinjiang province of north-west China); L. fem. n. monas, monad a unit, a monad; N.L. fem. n. Aidingimonas, a monad from Aiding Lake.
