Etymology: Gr. adj. allos, another, the other, different; N.L. fem. n. Nocardiopsis, a bacterial genus name; N.L. fem. n. Allonocardiopsis, the other Nocardiopsis, referring to the fact that it is phylogenetically related to Nocardiopsis.
