Type species: ¤ Allonocardiopsis opalescens Du et al. 2013.
Etymology: Gr. adj. allos, another, the other, different; N.L. fem. n. Nocardiopsis, a bacterial genus name; N.L. fem. n. Allonocardiopsis, the other Nocardiopsis, referring to the fact that it is phylogenetically related to Nocardiopsis.
Valid publication: DU (H.J.), ZHANG (Y.Q.), LIU (H.Y.), SU (J.), WEI (Y.Z.), MA (B.P.), GUO (B.L.) and YU (L.Y.): Allonocardiopsis opalescens gen. nov., sp. nov., a new member of the suborder Streptosporangineae, from the surface-sterilized fruit of a medicinal plant. Etymology: L. part. adj. opalescens, opalescent, referring to the colour of the aerial mycelium.
