Type species: ¤ Alloscardovia omnicolens Huys et al. 2007.
Etymology: Gr. adj. allos, different; N.L. fem. n. Scardovia, a bacterial generic name; N.L. fem. n. Alloscardovia, organism related to, but different from, Scardovia and related genera.
