Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Amorphus (from Gr. adj. amorphos, without form, shapeless), a bacterium without defined shape.
Valid publication: ZEEVI BEN YOSEF (D.), BEN-DOV (E.) and KUSHMARO (A.): Amorphus coralli gen. nov., sp. nov., a marine bacterium isolated from coral mucus, belonging to the order Rhizobiales. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2008, 58, 2704-2709.
