Etymology: Gr. n. ancalos, arm; Gr. adj. chlôros, green; N.L. neut. (sic) n. Ancalochloris, arm (-producing) green (microbe).

Etymology: N.L. masc. gen. n. perfilievii, of Perfil'ev, named after B.V. Perfil'ev, a Russian microbiologist.
