Etymology: L. n. asinus, a donkey (Equus asinus); L. neut. n. bacterium, a small rod or staff and, in biology, a bacterium (so called because the first ones observed were rod-shaped); N.L. neut. n. Asinibacterium, a bacterium isolated from Equus asinus.
