Type genus: ¤ Atopobium Collins and Wallbanks 1993.
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. Atopobium, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Atopobiaceae, the family of the genus Atopobium.
