Type species: ¤ Aureicoccus marinus Park et al. 2013.
Etymology: L. adj. aureus, of the colour of gold, golden; N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. n. kokkos, grain or berry) a coccus; N.L. masc. n. Aureicoccus, a golden coccus.
Valid publication: PARK (S.), YOSHIZAWA (S.), MURAMATSU (Y.), NAKAGAWA (Y.), YOKOTA (A.) and KOGURE (K.): Aureicoccus marinus gen. nov., sp. nov., a member of the family Flavobacteriaceae, isolated from seawater. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2013, 63, 1885-1890.
