Blastochloris gulmargensis Venkata Ramana et al. 2011, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) JA248 = DSM 19786 = JCM 14795.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. gulmargensis, of or pertaining to Gulmarg, a hilly resort in Kashmir, India, from where the type strain was isolated.
