Type genus: ¤ Blattabacterium Hollande and Favre 1931 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. n. Blattabacterium, type genus of the family; suff. - aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Blattabacteriaceae, the Blattabacterium family.
