Etymology: N.L. fem. n. caldera, from the Portuguese n. caldera, cauldron; -i-, connecting vowel; L. masc. n. habitans, dweller, inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Calderihabitans, inhabitant of caldera, referring to the isolation source of the type strain of the type species.
