Type species: ¤ Caldibacillus debilis Coorevits et al. 2012.
Etymology: L. adj. caldus, warm, hot; L. masc. n. bacillus, a small staff or rod; N.L. masc. n. Caldibacillus, warm bacillus, referring to the organism’s thermophily.

Etymology: L. masc. adj. debilis, feeble, weak, referring to the restricted substrate range for this species.
