Etymology: L. adj. caldus, hot; L. n. terra, soil; L. suff. -cola (from L. n. incola), dweller, inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Calditerricola, a dweller of a hot soil.

Etymology: N.L. masc. n. satsumensis, pertaining to Satsuma, the old name of Kagoshima prefecture, from where the type strain was isolated.

Etymology: N.L. gen. masc. n. yamamurae, of Yamamura, named after Mr Shoichi Yamamura, who provided the soil sample from which the type strain was isolated.
