Etymology: L. adj. caldus, warm, hot; L. fem. n. virga, rod; N.L. fem. n. Caldivirga, a hot rod.

Note: The Latin noun virga ae (a twig) is in the feminine gender. So, according to Rule 65 (2), the generic name Caldivirga is in the feminine gender, not in the masculine gender (sic).

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. maquilingensis, pertaining to Mount Maquiling, a volcano in the Phillippines.
