Catenulispora Busti et al. 2006, gen. nov. (Type genus of the suborder ¤ Catenulisporineae Cavaletti et al. 2006; type genus of the family ¤ Catenulisporaceae Busti et al. 2006).
Type species: ¤ Catenulispora acidiphila Busti et al. 2006.
Etymology: L. fem. n. catenula, small chain; Gr. fem. n. spora, seed, and in biology a spore; N.L. fem. n. Catenulispora, a thin chain of spores.
