Type species: ¤ Catenuloplanes japonicus Yokota et al. 1993.
Etymology: L. fem. n. catenula, a short chain; Gr. masc. n. planes, a wanderer; N.L. masc. n. Catenuloplanes, a short chain wanderer; intended to signify a motile short chain.
