Christensenella Morotomi et al. 2012, gen. nov. (Type genus of the family ¤ Christensenellaceae Morotomi et al. 2012).
Type species: ¤ Christensenella minuta Morotomi et al. 2012.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Christensenella, named after Professor Henrik Christensen, in honour of his many contributions to systematic bacteriology.
Valid publication: MOROTOMI (M.), NAGAI (F.) and WATANABE (Y.): Description of Christensenella minuta gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from human faeces, which forms a distinct branch in the order Clostridiales, and proposal of Christensenellaceae fam. nov. Etymology: L. fem. adj. minuta, little, small, minute, referring to the cell and colony size.
