Type genus: ¤ Comamonas (ex Davis and Park 1962) De Vos et al. 1985.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Comamonas, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Comamonadaceae, the Comamonas family.
