Etymology: N.L. n. compostum, compost; L. fem. n. monas, a unit, monad; N.L. fem. n. Compostimonas, a bacterium isolated from compost.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. suwonensis, of or belonging to Suwon region, where the bacterium was first found.
