Type species: ¤ Coprobacillus cateniformis corrig. Kageyama and Benno 2000.
Etymology: Gr. n. kopros, excrement, ordure, feces; L. masc. dim. n. bacillus, a small rod; N.L. masc. n. Coprobacillus, rodlet isolated from feces.
