Type genus: ¤ Erysipelothrix Rosenbach 1909 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Erysipelothrix -trichos, type genus of the order; suff. -ales, ending to denote an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Erysipelothrichales, order of the genus Erysipelothrix.
