Type species: ¤ Frischella perrara Engel et al. 2013.
Etymology: N.L. dim. fem. n. Frischella, named after Karl Ritter von Frisch, 1889–1982, for his prominent role in the study of honeybee behaviour.

Etymology: L. fem. adj. perrara, very rare/exceptional, referring to its restricted occurrence in the honeybee gut.
