Type species: ¤ Gaetbulibacter saemankumensis Jung et al. 2005.
Etymology: N.L. n. gaetbulum, gaetbul, the Korean name for a tidal flat; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Gaetbulibacter, rod isolated from a tidal flat.
