Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Georgfuchsia, named after Georg Fuchs, for his contribution to our present understanding of anaerobic microbial growth on aromatic hydrocarbons.

Etymology: N.L. n. toluol (from Fr. or Sp. tolu, balsam from Santiago de Tolu), toluol, toluene; L. fem. suff. -ica, suffix used with the sense of pertaining to; N.L. fem. adj. toluolica, pertaining to toluene.
