Type species: ¤ Gryllotalpicola koreensis Kim et al. 2012.
Etymology: N.L. n. Gryllotalpa, scientific name of a genus of insects; L. suff. -cola (from L. masc. or fem. n. incola), inhabitant, dweller; N.L. masc. n. Gryllotalpicola, Gryllotalpa-dweller, referring to the isolation of strains from the gut of the African mole cricket, Gryllotalpa africana.

Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. daejeonensis, of or pertaining to Daejeon, a city in South Korea, where the type strain was isolated.
